The studio
Fernhollow began as a notebook of places worth returning to. It is now a small print studio and a way of working: go slowly, go back often, print only what holds up.
How we work
We photograph with medium-format cameras on a tripod, usually from a single spot over several days. Weather decides almost everything; most mornings end with nothing on the card.
Back in the studio, each photograph is developed with a light hand. We remove dust and sensor spots, and we do not add skies, move mountains or composite frames.
The result is a small body of work — around a dozen new prints a year.
Commissions & workshops
Work for a specific wall
We produce site-specific pieces for residential and hospitality interiors, from a single oversized print to a series across a building. Lead time is typically three to six months.
Small groups, real conditions
Four to six days in the field with no more than four participants. We cover planning around light and tide, composition, exposure and printing your own work.
Editorial & book use
Selected images can be licensed for editorial, publishing and exhibition use. Write to us with the intended use and territory.
